Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) is part of our Terms & Conditions and describes what you may not do with any product or service provided by BuilderBias LLC (“BuilderBias,” “we,” “us”), including HALIO, Alignd, Echō, and the websites at builderbias.com (collectively, the “Services”).

BuilderBias is committed to intentional, transparent, responsible AI by design. This AUP is how we protect that commitment — and other users — from misuse of the Services.

1. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Services to, or attempt to, do any of the following.

Illegal activity

• engage in any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law, regulation, or court order;
• infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any person or entity;
• facilitate fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or tax evasion.

Harm to people

• generate content that depicts, incites, or facilitates violence, self-harm, or physical harm to any person or group;
• produce child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that sexualizes minors, under any circumstances;
• harass, stalk, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person or organization;
• generate non-consensual intimate imagery of real people, including deepfakes.

Deception and manipulation

• create or distribute content intended to deceive, including disinformation, forged documents, forged identification, or content misrepresenting its source;
• impersonate BuilderBias, BuilderBias employees, or any other person or organization;
• generate fraudulent reviews, endorsements, or testimonials;
• manipulate electoral processes, census responses, or other civic activities.

Cybersecurity abuse

• develop, test, or deliver malicious software, phishing kits, spyware, ransomware, or other malicious code;
• circumvent authentication, access controls, or security measures on any system you are not authorized to access;
• use the Services to scan, probe, or attack third-party infrastructure without authorization.

Safety and regulated domains

• use AI-generated output as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, psychological, safety, or regulatory decisions;
• generate instructions to manufacture, acquire, or deploy weapons (including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive weapons) or to cause large-scale physical harm;
• provide individualized medical diagnosis, legal advice, or financial advice to third parties in a manner that implies BuilderBias is the licensed provider.

Content scraping and platform abuse

• use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract data from the Services at volumes or frequencies that place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
• bypass rate limits, licensing checks, or usage controls;
• use output from the Services to train a competing machine learning model without BuilderBias's prior written consent.

Redistribution and reverse engineering

As further described in our Terms & Conditions, you may not:

• copy, mirror, redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the Services or the product binaries;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services, except where law expressly overrides this restriction;
• remove or alter proprietary notices (copyright, trademark, attribution) or our brand identity;
• use BuilderBias trademarks or brand identity in a product, service, or promotion without our prior written consent.

2. Responsible AI output

HALIO and other BuilderBias AI products generate output using statistical language models. Output can be wrong, biased, or unsuitable for a given use. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying output before acting on it, and for any consequences of that action. Do not represent AI output as human-authored when that distinction matters (for example, in academic submissions, legal filings, or news reporting) unless the receiving party knows and consents.

3. Reporting misuse

If you encounter misuse of BuilderBias Services — including content that appears to violate this AUP, a security vulnerability, or an attempt to impersonate BuilderBias — please report it to us at [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to investigate, and avoid sending content that would itself violate this AUP.

4. Enforcement

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

• investigate suspected violations of this AUP;
• remove access to any Service, in whole or in part, from any individual or organization we reasonably believe is violating this AUP;
• cooperate with law enforcement to the extent required by applicable law.

Because HALIO runs locally on your device, we do not have the technical ability to monitor or moderate your individual sessions. The obligations in this AUP apply to you regardless of whether your use is observable by us.

5. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-product or on the website. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the revised AUP.
